DEPUTIES SEEK ASSISTANCE FROM THE PUBLIC AS THEY SEARCH FOR MISSING WOMAN
Hillsborough, NC (June 21, 2024) – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance from the public as they search for Ruth Pettiford Miles, 86. Family members reported her missing Thursday night.
Ms. Miles left her home on Emma B. Wright Lane on Friday driving a white 2019 Nissan Rogue with tag number EMC-1535. Emma B. Wright Lane is off Walnut Grove Church Road, north of the Hillsborough city limits. She is five foot, three inches tall and weighs approximately 125 pounds.
Attempts by deputies and Orange County Emergency Services personnel to locate Ms. Miles thus far have not been successful. Deputies entered her into NCIC, the statewide law enforcement database, as a missing and endangered person (formerly known as a Silver Alert).
