Dear Board of Orange County Commissioners,

Please take into consideration several factors when deciding on your vote:
– the number of serious accidents that happen at that intersection; the area roads/intersections are not designed to handle any more heavy access entrance onto Hwy 54
– the area is a rural area and has businesses run by people from the local area; growth within the community and contributions within the community
– just a few miles in either direction, citizens have access to a dollar store (or two)
– already in the area is a source for groceries and necessities
– just a few miles to Carrboro is a full service grocery and drug store
– this would add NOTHING to the area but would DETRACT and DEGRADE from what exists currently – no positives and yes negatives; no pros and many cons

Dear Board of Orange County Commissioners,

I am strongly opposed to the rezoning of the White Cross community to allow larger retail stores, such as Dollar Store and Dollar General. This type of store would cheapen the aesthetic and general appeal of the area. There is also no need for such store with Bravos Market, the two convenience stores, and La Fiesta already in place. These are valuable, locally owned, small businesses that would suffer to larger chains. We do not need, nor do we want, larger chain stores in this area.
