Register for Webinars on Strategies to Address the Opioid Epidemic
NCACC, NC Department of Justice, and NC Department of Health and Human Services are partnering on a semimonthly webinar series that will provide information and resources on evidence-based, high-impact strategies that local governments may pursue to address the opioid epidemic utilizing funds from the national litigation settlement.
Three sessions are planned for January, and you can register to attend each via Zoom: This introductory session will offer an overview of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that governs the use of opioid settlement funds, introduce the Option A strategies, and preview current and planned resources and information.
January 10, 3 - 4:30 p.m.: Overview and Orientation
January 24, 3 - 4:30 p.m.: Evidence-Based Addiction Treatment, Part IThis session will introduce evidence-based addiction treatment, provide an overview of how and why it works, and tackle some myths and misconceptions.
January 31, 3 - 4:30 p.m.: Evidence-Based Addiction Treatment, Part IIThis session will introduce county health departments and jails that are already fighting the epidemic with evidence-based treatment.
Please share this invitation with others in your county and community who are involved with opioid mitigation efforts.
The website ncopioidsettlement.org has been developed as a one-stop resource for data and strategies that local governments are allowed to pursue to address the opioid epidemic using settlement funds. Data and resources will be continuously added to and updated over time.

Thank you, Commissioner Greene. I have forwarded this to relevant CJRD staff and I look forward to attending the 1/10 session, as well as the other two treatment-oriented webinars. I was just speaking with Sheriff Blackwood yesterday about some possible recommendations for this funding when available.
