Fully Fund Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools

My children have been a part of the Chapel Hill Carrboro City School District for 12 years. Our schools, teachers, and staff deserve robust public funding. I am emailing and asking that you fully fund the continuation budget, and Pay Go (to cover design and planning for school bond projects).

- OP-B05A Bedford and Fowler amendment to increase education funding 5.5%

Funds our continuation request

- OPB05B Hamilton amendment to increase education funding 4.5%

Funds our continuation request 

CIP [Capital Investment Plan]:

- CIP-B01 Fowler amendment to increase pay-go by $3m

We need pay go to ensure we have funds to cover the design costs, so bond funds can cover the construction costs.

We DO NOT support 

Any amendments that cut education funding or delay education related CIP projects.

My daughter is a sophomore at Carrboro High, and has been a part of the Chapel Hill Carrboro City School District for 4 years. We switched over from a private school and have had a positive experience at both our middle and high school. However, it was challenging when my daughter would go weeks without a math teacher, or tell me about a wonderful teacher who resigned for a better paying business sector job, or complain about maintenance issues with bathrooms. Our schools, teachers, and staff deserve robust public funding. They work so hard and deal with so much. Teachers deserve much more pay, and need full access to resources to do their job. I am emailing and asking that you fully fund the continuation budget, and Pay Go (to cover design and planning for school bond projects).
