Board:
My public records request to the Board was for street addresses. Wil Glenn seems to believe that I requested "calls". I did not. Actual audio recordings of calls is not the same.
The inference of Wil Glenn's message is that my public record request will not be respected unless I address my request to another unit of Orange County government under the Board. Wil Glenn's email signature includes a hyperlink for receiving news from them. (I do not know Wil Glenn's preferred gender pronouns.)
Wil Glenn's email signature has nothing related to the Public Records Act, which is very common among government workers, nor a hyperlink in the signature promoting transparency and how to make public record requests to Orange County.
I do not see why I should expect Wil Glenn to make a good faith effort to demonstrate that Orange County government is transparant.
Wil Glenn could have emailed, "Here are the (insert number) street addresses in ZIP code 27278 to which Orange County Emergency Services (OCES) dispatched unit(s) related to a call-for-service on December 31, 2015 between 0600 hours and 2000 hours." Including the actual street addresses, that would have been an outstanding, professional response.
Wil Glenn could have emailed, "I will ensure that your public records request to the Board will be handled by (person's name) of OCES. I will see that you receive a response by (insert day & hour)." That would have been a professional response.
I addressed my public record request to the Board. I do not see why anyone should have to re-make a public record request to please Wil Glenn.
Please, Board, I wish to receive the street addresses, as previously described.
