After three years away, it’s finally back… The Couples Category makes its return to La Leyenda del Dorado 2026 on its 10th anniversary! An unforgettable experience designed for those who believe that the greatest adventures are meant to be shared.
Whether you’re Male + Male, Female + Female, or Mixed (Male + Female), now you can take on the 5 most legendary MTB stages in the Americas side by side with your partner.
Every climb, every kilometer, and every finish line will be about pushing together toward one goal: reaching El Dorado.
Key Rules:

Both riders must complete all 5 stages together.

No more than 1 minute of separation is allowed at the designated checkpoints.If the time difference at a checkpoint exceeds 1 minute, the Couple will receive a timepenalty determined by the race management.

The team’s time will be recorded at the passing of the the third wheel (that is, the second rider of the Couple)

If one rider doesn’t finish a stage, the will be removed out of the general classification (but may continue riding recreationally).

Mutual assistance is allowed (pushing, sharing tools, water, or spares).External assistance is only permitted in areas designated by the organization.

The spirit of this category is teamwork, unity, and camaraderie, thus, the couples have to race using the same kit/gear
