Thank you for being there last night!
The Commissioners had his application in their packets, but he wasn’t nominated. I don’t know of any specific reason for that, as there was no discussion before or during the meeting. However, I think it is likely that they would like to keep some gender diversity on the board by appointing another woman in Beth’s place.
I will advertise for the upcoming vacancy so we can get more applicants.

Due to the number of boards presenting and the expected length of other agenda items, the BOCC Chair has asked for each presentation to be limited to 5 minutes. Commissioners may ask questions, but that is not included in the 5 minutes allotted for your presentation. Please note that the Commissioners will have access to a copy of the written report and work plan your board submitted, so each presentation should be a verbal report of highlights without supplementary materials or PowerPoints.
The Annual Report and Work Plan presentations come up first on the agenda, and you are welcome to exit following your presentation or stay to view some or all of the rest of the meeting.

As many of you are aware, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) asks to receive an annual report on the work of Orange County boards and commissions, as well as upcoming plans for the year.
The following dates and presentation order are scheduled for this year’s presentations to the BOCC:

Both meetings will begin at 7:00 pm. The February 10th meeting will be at the Southern Human Services Center located at 2501 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill, NC 27516. The March 10th meeting will be at the Whitted Building located at 300 W. Tryon St., Hillsborough, NC 27278.
