Dear OCBOCC,

Please fully fund the Orange County Public Schools and the Chapel Hill -Carrboro Public Schools. Do NOT change to a per-pupil funding model. This will hurt the school districts, not help. It’s bad enough that the state legislature refuses to properly and adequately fund public education for the state. Do not make it worse by changing the funding scheme. It is imperative that the school districts receive full funding.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Jayse Sessi

Dear Jayse Sessi,

On behalf of the Orange County Board of Commissioners (BOCC), thank you for sharing your perspective on the impacts to our school districts if the County moves to a per-pupil funding model.  As you may know, the County is facing a major budget shortfall of several million dollars due to projected expenditures exceeding projected revenues and the BOCC has to consider all options. Your feedback is helpful as we face difficult decisions.

Sincerely,
Jean

Jean Hamilton, Chair
Orange County Board of Commissioners
