Kelly Shaban, Dr. Sandra Strong, and Bonnie Hammersley,

Let's be very clear: I do not care about your "blacklists" or your administrative protocols. I have never asked you for help, and I never will. I am a European who chose to leave a comfortable life behind 12 years ago to live in the trenches of Mexico, recycling rainwater and sacrificing everything to do what you, with your millions of dollars, are incapable of doing.

I open every email because I have an ethical responsibility to animals that you clearly do not share. To you, Ginger is a "behavioral decline" case; to me, she is a life worth fighting for.

Your paternalism and colonialist attitude—asking a person in a developing country to solve a problem in North Carolina—is nauseating. I have saved more animals with my bare hands and zero government funding than your entire department has with its massive budget.

The logistics are simple for anyone with a shred of will:

  • American Airlines flies from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) or Charlotte (CLT) to Dallas (DFW), with direct connections to Queretaro (QRO) or Mexico City (AICM).
  • United Airlines does the same through Houston (IAH).

Stop pretending this is a "resource" issue. This is a willpower issue. You have the money, you have the staff, and you have the airlines. I have the heart and the space.

Send the dog. I have already done my part by accepting her. Now, get out of your climate-controlled offices and do yours. I expect the flight confirmation number.

Best regards,

Best regards,
