To whichever commissioner oversees this department,

Please tell me why this has become such a debacle. I applied for, and was given an LTHA award. The amount was not specified at the time, and my taxes were due. I overpaid my property taxes because of the lack of communication, and apparently organization. Passing the buck is not an answer.

Willie Hilliard doesn't have a clue, and Arron Cohen (sp?) has not returned any calls.

I have been told my check is in the mail since January, only to find out it really wasn't. Three times!

The waste of time and resources, both on my end and the county's, should be unacceptable. I would really like to hear how this will be avoided in the future.

I'd imagine that most long term homeowners are senior citizens who need this assistance in order to keep being able to afford to live here. We are no different, and this ineptitude really screws up our budget.

In case I haven't been clear, I still don't have this refund, and just got another check's in the mail response.

Thanks if you pay any attention to this matter, if not, you probably guess what I'm thinking.

John Eshelman,

I am sorry that you have had a frustrating experience with the LHA program.  I will check on the status of your payment through the County's Finance department.  I will get back to you as soon as I hear back.

Take care.
Travis

Thank you for the response Jean,

Although my understanding is I am not the first to bring this to the commissioners attention, I will be very interested in hearing from Mr Myren how this was allowed to unfold.

Sincerely,

J. Eshelman
