Dear Board of Commissioners,

I’m an Orange County resident, and I’m asking you to fully fund the CHCCS continuation budget and not move to a per-pupil funding model. A formula would make school funding less stable and make it harder for schools to plan around real costs and student needs. Please protect the current process of reviewing and funding actual operating needs.

Thank you for your consideration of this important issue.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Bruening

Dear Rebecca Bruening,

On behalf of the Orange County Board of Commissioners (BOCC), thank you for sharing your perspective on the impacts to CHCCS if the County moves to a per-pupil funding model.  As you may know, the County is facing a major budget shortfall of several million dollars due to projected expenditures exceeding projected revenues and the BOCC has to consider all options. Your feedback is helpful as we face difficult decisions.

Sincerely,
Jean

Jean Hamilton, Chair
Orange County Board of Commissioners
