i understand that currently planned development of the Greene tract is
being considered- the Greene tract is a wonderful refuge for many many
people- the fact that it has remained "undeveloped" is part of it's
charm.  It feels like a piece of wilderness in the midst of a very
densely populated town- there is quiet there and many beautiful creeks
and hardwood trees= it is also a refuge for a lot of wildlife that need
undisturbed territory- barred owls/ red shouldered hawks/ multitudes of
warblers/deer/turtles- it is a wondrous place i have had the pleasure to
walk/bike/run for 20 years- if you cut it/ dig it/ hardtop it it's
fragile trail system will be forever gone and that would be a great
sadness and a great loss.  Have you seen the PH Craig legacy lately?
Gone is gone. Thanks for listening.   Bruce Wilks (Trailhead and retired
family doctor from Carrboro)
