Pulling down emails .

  Why pull down the emails after they have been up ? Will you respond. The public has a right to know. Others are left up.

Hi Lou. The public email archive posting guidelines can be found here: https://www.orangecountync.gov/953/Board-of-County-Commissioners-BOCC

 

For purposes of the public email archive, staff will review emails before posting and will not post emails containing profanity, hate speech or information that is confidential or otherwise not subject to public disclosure under applicable law. This may include, but is not limited to, information identifying a minor; confidential employee information; information identifying clients of the Department of Social Services or Health Department; and personally identifiable or sensitive information, such as dates of birth, Social Security numbers, or similar identifying information.

 

An email may be withheld from the public archive when appropriate. The withholding of an email from the public archive does not necessarily mean that the underlying communication is not a public record or is exempt from disclosure under North Carolina law.
