I am writing to cordially invite you to the Eno River Association’s 60th Anniversary Concert: “The Eno Flows Downtown” on Sept. 12th at 6:30pm at the historic Carolina Theatre in downtown Durham. ERA had to pivot away from our traditional “Festival for the Eno” after tropical depression Chantal forced record flooding on the Eno River in July of last year with ongoing impacts to Eno River State Park and neighborhoods along the river. In the spirit of the Festival, we invite you to join us to recognize your service and support for the Eno River Basin.
Funding support from our federal, state, and local partners has always been a key component for conserving and protecting land near the Eno River and its major tributaries. As such, ERA has traditionally invited elected officials whose districts include the Eno River Basin to our Festival on the 4th of July. ERA has been working to create a new vision for the Festival for 2027 and beyond, which we plan to share very soon.
The anniversary concert will highlight the amazing artistic diversity of the Eno River Basin, with performances by Tre. Charles, Jakes Xerxes Fussell, and Pura Fe with Cary Morin, as well as collaborations from Cortland Gilliam and Brian Howe, and Beverly Scarlett and friends. I know that you will enjoy this incredible evening of music and artistry, all to benefit the Eno River. You can purchase tickets here or by visiting the Carolina Theatre box office.
