Rumored data center going in on New Sharon Church Rd around Bill Poole Rd.

I live on Riverwood Drive and have a well in the same aquifer as this rumored center. Surely there have been enough people in areas where these centers were built before we all knew the risks that Orange county would not approve one to be built here

 Not only goes this endanger the people with wells in this area, it also risks the Lake Michie reservoir for Durham county.

I have not seen anything official regarding this center. Are these just rumors or have the commissioners tried to hide this like they tried to hide

 the construction dump that was attempted a few years ago?

I would appreciate a response to this email at your earliest convenience.

I have no information on this. We are in the process of placing a moratorium on Data Centers in Orange County and I feel sure if staff or other commissioners were of this, we all would know. I will check further tomorrow.

Also, when was this construction dump conversation occurring?

Kathleen,

I confirmed that the County's Planning Department has no record of an application or inquiry regarding a potential data center in the area you referenced.  As Commissioners Fowler and McKee indicated, the Board is scheduled to consider a one year moratorium on data center development on April 21st.  That process will involve a public hearing in case you are interested in commenting.  The agenda will be posted here by April 17th.
