Dear esteemed members of Orange County Board of Commissioners,
The Carrboro Farmers' Market is delighted to join other farmers' markets across the country in celebrating National & North Carolina Farmers' Market Week from August 2nd through 8th, 2026. We are proud to celebrate the vital role that farmers markets play in our food system - they preserve farmland, stimulate local economies, increase access to nutritious food, support healthy communities, promote sustainability, and more.
On Market days during that week (Wednesday, August 5th 3-6 pm and Saturday, August 8th 7am-12pm) shoppers can enjoy our “Mini Museum” of market history in the gazebo, with banners highlighting the market’s history and development. At the Saturday Market, we will also have samples of in-season produce from our farmers, live music, a raffle, and more.
We invite you to make a special visit during National and North Carolina Farmers' Market Week week to show your support and love for your favorite farmers' market. I will be leading a tour for our elected officials at the following dates/times starting at our Information Tent:
- Wednesday, August 5th at 3 pm
- Saturday, August 8th at 10 am
Please let us know if you plan to attend. Thank you for all you do, and hope to see you soon!
All the best,
