We made the trip back from Utena on the bus, and checked into the
Europa City Hotel. Everything is quite nice, and the boys are in
groups of 3. We walked to Old Town yesterday, toured a Cathedral (in
process of remodeling), a castle, and did some shopping at the street
market. I think most of the boys bought some gifts to bring home. A
couple of the Lithuanian kids (from the team) helped us with the
tour. Cold soda and ice cream were a hit.

The boys were starving when we arrived so on our way to Old Town we
stopped to have lunch. They had a choice to go to a Pizza place, or
McDonalds - they chose McDonalds. Most the same food, except it
tasted a little better. One difference - catsup was not free (90
cents!).

We had dinner last night at a pizza place, and filled up half the
restaurant with our group. A leisure walk back to the hotel, and
everyone turned in. We told them no soccer or baseball in the
halls . . . and since security didn't find us, the evening was
uneventful.

Sam and Buddy spent the afternoon and evening with their host family.

It is currently 9:30 a.m. here and all the boys are up and eating
breakfast (included in room rate, we think). Scrambled eggs,
blintzes, sausage, cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheeses, salami, breads,
pastries and juices. We are supposed to go to a water park today at 1
p.m., but the weather is not cooperating yet. Very overcast, with a
light drizzle (off and on). Maybe it will clear up before we go.

More later . . . .
