Dear Sisters,

Please join us (Corinna Shen, Rose Li & Christina Poy) in celebrating the induction of OCAW's beloved Pauline Woo Tsui in the 2019 Maryland Women's Hall of Fame on March 21, 2019 in Annapolis. Although Corinna and I were in Taiwan when Pauline passed away and missed her funeral, we had plans to visit with Pauline again upon our return. I was so sad being far away knowing I would never see or speak with her again and that I was unable to pay respects at her services, especially as a small group of us were writing and preparing her nomination package ~ hoping to celebrate with her in March 2019 if she was to be selected as an honoree!

Hence, I want to give kudos to Corinna for spearheading and organizing the submission packet of Pauline's nomination into the Maryland Women's Hall of Fame. This was no easy feat gathering the necessary materials and documents from very busy individuals and Pauline's family. Corinna started a year in advance and went to great effort to meet the submission deadline the day before she flew to Taiwan.

And it was my deepest privilege, as a friend and protegee of Pauline's, to write a recommendation letter entailing the positive influence she made on the many lives and careers of both women and men who came to know her in person as well as those who never knew her but have been helped or shaped by those of us she mentored. Like I texted to Pauline's granddaughter, her grandma was "my auntie, mentor, boss and dear family friend. She will forever be in our hearts." 💕💕💕

Feel free to share the attached flyer with non-OCAW members who would like to honor Pauline. It is a free event, but space is limited and you must register to attend by clicking on this link: 2019 Maryland Women's Hall of Fame and Women of Tomorrow Ceremony

Best regards,
Christina Poy

P.S. - Because Annapolis is far for most of you, I suggest forming carpools. There are public parking garages (i.e., Gott's Garage) available within walking distance of the Senate Building (11 Bladen St, Annapolis, MD).

Note: This e-mail account is not monitored regularly. If you have time to check it once a week, please consider joining our OCAW-MD Board.
