Reaching out to other Chromebook with Android users. For Netflix (and other streaming services), is there an advantage to using the browser over the Android app, or vice versa? To me, using the Android app seems to make sense, but I don't know if there's a downside. What are your thoughts?
This is able to reproduced any time I load netflix on Brave. This was also happening with Chrome, on my previous system and is why I switched to Firefox. This will happen during screen drags, during game play of any game.
When I watch netflix on chrome on my pc the quality is low and it looks blurry. I tried other browsers and its still the same. This happens on other sites aswell like on youtube if I watch a video in 1080p on my computer vs my phone. It looks a lot better on my phone. Its most noticeable when watching anime since it looks pixely on my computer whereas its fine on my phone. Does anyone know why this is or how to fix it? I want to fix this problem because sometimes I watch on my computer and sometimes on phone so its annoying when its lower quality on one thing than the other.
When I go to netflix.com on my MacBook (Big Sur V11.6) brave think the site is unsecured.

In a freshly installed Arch I cannot play Netflix using any of my browsers, namely: Firefox and Vivaldi.
Vivaldi complained right off the bat that something was missing and could not play multimedia.
I can't get netflix to load on any browser. I always get the message 'ERR_Connection_Refused'. Every other website works fine, other than Disney Plus which won't load. It doesn't come up with the same error code, just continually loads. Very occasionally, netflix will work for a short time, but then stop again. I have tried clearing the cache, browser history etc, and tried on incognito as well as on firefox, safari and chrome. Recently, it started working again for a short period when I downloaded Microsoft silverlight, then again when I enabled flash on the netflix site, and once again when I used Ctrl + R once it was loading. However, I have tried doing these things again to get it to work and they haven't worked.
I ended up setting up a japanese language profile within netflix and then using the /browse/audio and selecting japanese (which is available only if you have a japanese language setting on the profile) to find native and dubs. This may help others with the same issue.
I have noticed quite a few incidences where netflix has been identified as web-browsing. Please make sure you are on the latest content version (463 being latest today) and test again as I see some improvements being reported. You may open a support case to follow the updates from bug 68271.

Hi, I had the same issue and found a solution on the Manjaro Forum that worked for me. You just have to change the settings from "never remember history" to "always remeber history". Before the most recent update to edge i could play netflix and fast forward whenever i want but now with the new update public edge version 116.0.1938.62 i can't even fast forward it without the browser crashing constantly and it's only netflix i've been using the does it. Youtube runs fine all night but once i watch something on netflix and i want to fast forward or rewind the tv show or movie it crashes the browser
I wanted my home-assistant to know when I am watching Netflix on my windows 10 PC and since there is no API for Netflix the only way I found to do this is to check my browser and if the active tab is netflix.com send a mqtt message to hass.

Web-assembly, for those unfamiliar with it, is rather like a new version of Java, but it runs in the browser,
not as an app. It's on-demand, it loads with the page, effectively, and it compiles into native machine code.

I'm not saying Web-Assembly will solve the 4K streaming speed. I'm saying it could, and I think it's likely.
I don't have the inside track any more than (most of?) you do, but I think this is the direction things heading!

I'm in favour of the web-app approach, as with web-assembly these days, apps can be always
cross-platform, regularly updated for the widest audience, and it's safer than having an app
for a small platform. I also heard figures of $1+ million (to several) per platform, for official
apps which are always need authorisation and/or development by the service, such as Netflix.
In this case, Netflix is no longer usable on my Wii-U, which is actually annoying to me as I
liked streaming to the Wii-U joypad, because I don't have a tablet which runs their app...
