to OCA STL Board
Hey everyone,
I have put in a lot of hours for the Gala preparations.  Behind-the-scenes logistics started last fall - hotel booking, DJ reservation, coordinate with corporate sponsors, social media promotion, etc.  Unfortunately, I absolutely can not do everything by myself.

We have a week to pull it off.  Please share, like, retweet all the posts about the OCA Gala on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get the word out.

See the message below.  (I didn't know that Ladue News Magazine would be writing about us?  Who has this information? Also, Harold Law still had not received his photos from last year.)

Thank you.
Yvonne

Hi, Yvonne and OCA officers:

I agree with Wendy,  We still have time to do somethings, but I am afraid time is running out very quickly.  4/6 is a week from now.

About a year ago, I was told that the 2018 OCA  Life Time Achievement Award photos and write-up  would appear in the Ladue News Magazine soon after the event.  It would have been a great event for the community to know and to appreciate Asian Americans' contributions in the St. Louis community.   But it never did. I could not find any photos or write-up about the event.  Maybe OCA should have been more "aggressive" to push the news of such event.

Congratulations to Austin Tao. See you all at the dinner, and I will bring a few friends.

Hi, Yvonne,

It looks like not everybody is aware of the life time achievement award that OCA is planning to award Austin on April 6th. Perhaps OCA can put out a flyer on LinkedIn so that we can all like it to let more people know about it so that they may come if they want to.

Austin is well deserved the award.

Best.

Dear Friends,

When you are retired you have more time, well not exactly, because there are still only 24 hrs in a day. When you are retired you do have more time to do the things you want to do and like to do. When you are retired do you have more time to reflect what life is all about.

Well, as I was at Starbucks the other day and this came to me quite easily and I wrote it in 15 minutes

“ IN  A  NUTSHELL”

Life is indeed a journey through time from dark to light and dark again.

Life is a journey through space to places of the known to the unknown and to known again.

Life is a journey to climb the mountain in front of you and climb the next again.

Life is a journey to enjoy the world and make it better so others can enjoy again.

Life is a journey to love, be loved, and to give love again.

Life is indeed a journey through time from dark to light and dark again.
