Hi All,

I hope that you are enjoying this snowy Sunday.

I am sending you the list of contacts for GALA sponsors and hope that we can get them to sponsor this year. 

I have been busy in setting up my new lab at the Helix Center and will not have time to help out. I do not mind getting email by ccing me if needed. 

I have helped to reach out to the sponsors since 2015. It is a rewarding experience by reaching out strangers for sponsorship. In fact, I am using this marketing skills to reach out to my clients. I hope that everyone will have a chance to reach out to friends and networks to invite them to come to the gala. It takes a lot of team work to prepare for a successful gala. 

I also have one idea about recognition of people who have done great jobs in community work. As AACS (Asian American Civic Services) is a new youth group who is set up to be engaged in civic services, it may be good to ask a representative from that group to give a 2 minute talk. This may bring more people to attend to the gala as their parents may like to learn more about OCA.

I would also like to receive the EventBrite Link to invite my friends to come to the gala. I will sponsor one table and may get another table from other new friends. If we all try to reach out to others, more people will get to know about OCA and become our members.

By the way, I would like to ask Phoebe Qian and Jean Wu to take care of the registration if needed. I will take vacation from March 11 to 14. I will make myself available for the board meeting if I am in town. Feel free to ask me for any questions.

Thank you Lucy for the list. Since you are in communication with the folks in the the Chinese organizations please reach out to the Chinese schools and organizations to confirm their table supporter level and attendance. In addition, since OCA has helped fund the AACS please have them sponsor a table as well. The program line up does not leave much room, so we can not accommodate them to speak at the gala. The timeline is very tight with a bunch of awards and speeches. We already had discussed having the Filipino students to help out at the gala. In addition, we are reaching out to other Asian student organizations for other tasks as well.

Please ask Jean Wu to be a table supporter for 8 seats. She is well verse on how important the funds are to OCA's programs. You had invited your friends to attend the events and gala in the past so I would highly encourage you to ask them to buy either individual tickets in pairs or a table since it is easier to group them together. Can you also ask Bob Nation to attend since he came to the past galas as well? We also fund the Dragonboat event and since you are on the board, can you ask them to buy a table as well? It is only fair since we paid for a few years to participate at that event. It should be a two way effort. Please cc: me, Yvonne, and Cheryl on your communications to those organizations and the ones who want to have a table.
