15. Kolga Tbilisi Photo Ödülleri / Kolga Awards

4 Mayıs'ta başlayarak Tiflis'de (Gürcistan) 15. kez gerçekleşecek Kolga Tbilisi Photo etkinlikleri kapsamında verilen Kolga Fotoğraf Ödülleri'nin  "Yılın Fotoğrafları Sergisi"nde bu yılın mobil fotoğraf öyküsü finalistleri arasında yer alan ve İzmir civarındaki A.L.S. hastalarının geleneksel pikniklerini öyküleyen "Bahar Buluşması" adlı çalışmamdan 10 fotoğrafla yer alacağım.

Etkinlikler süresince, ödüllerin de açıklanacağı "Yılın Fotoğrafları Sergisi"nin yanısıra açılacak diğer 15 sergi, 3 atölye, 3 seminer ve portfolyo değerlendirmeleri ile geleneksel "Alexander Roinashvili Basın Fotoğrafçısı Ödülü" sergisi de görülebilecek. Festival süresince Henri Cartier-Bresson ve Sarah Moon sergileri de izlenebilecek.

My serial work which is named "Spring Meeting" has been shortlisted on the mobile serial photograph categories of the Kolga Tbilisi Photo Award and it will be part of the "Best Photos of the Year" show in Tbilisi, Georgia, from May 4.

About work series: The traditional spring meeting and picnic of ALS patients held in Izmir, which is third major city of Turkey. This activity, which the patient and his / her relatives meet, is being used for moral purposes and to strengthen relationships with their life. Also, the patients and their relatives are informed about the latest treatment options.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons  die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
