In order to help clean up our neighbourhood and assist the homeless, the City of Cape Town has created a specific hotline number - 0800 87 2201 - for complaints about vagrants.

Ring that number and the City will log your call, give you a reference number and send a field worker out to address the problem.

If there's no resolution then the problem is escalated to the DPU team to come and do a clean up. As this team works on a reactive basis and isn't large enough to proactively deal with the problem, they're only able to able to respond to calls - the more info they receive about a specific spot, the more action they're able to take and they will add it to their top hot-spot watch list.
