At a meeting last week, Councillor for Ward 57 (and Mayoral Committee Member for Transport) Brett Herron provided an update on the project to get heavy grain delivery trucks out of Obs, particularly off Lower Scott Road. Premier Mills have installed a new weighbridge which leads directly onto Malta Road and the plan is to use this for all trucks entering and leaving the site.
Trucks leaving the site will start to use that exit in the very near future thus halving the heavy traffic through Obs. Some building modifications are necessary before trucks can enter over the new weighbridge but Premier hopes to complete these changes by September.
