Hello all
Obsid have posted this invitation re. Mandela Day on the Heart of Obs google group? LOcal NGOs may well have suggestions for how residents might offer their services on that day. If so, contact Ancois at Obsid (or myself).

The Mandela Day campaign message is simple: Mr Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity. All we are asking is that everyone gives 67 minutes of their time, whether it’s supporting your chosen charity or serving your local community.
Mandela Day is a call to action for individuals – for people everywhere – to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time, just as Mr Mandela did.

Many folks are keen to get involved but lack the inspiration to be
the 'fire starter'. If you know any projects for Mandela day you
might join, or if you are starting a project and wouldn't mind
some folks jumping in to join you - please post your details here

Hi Rob,
Home Spm will have a special lunch for the homeless. A business is donating 67 meals. We are also trying to see if we can donate meals to the unemployed & elderly in the community as well. 67 extra.
Maybe of note is that a Martial Arts Master is offering a day where they will teach safety measure / defence / if your attacked etc; totally free for residents within the community of Woodstock, Salt River, Obs & even Mowbray.
Venue: Home Spm: date: 20 July 2012 / time: 10am to 3pm. Age: from 18 till oldddddd. Especially those within the community that are single & living on their own. Only requirement is: bring your own lunch & drinks.
Clothing must be comfy. Anyone interested can email me to ensure a place. The instructors name is Claude Ruegg if anyone would like to google his name they'll view all he offers in the programs he has.
