I can't say this with authority, but the truss rod through the headstock
removes material at a stress point that might weaken the headstock and make
it more likely to break in an unfortunate accident. It does have its
conveniences though. Possibly building the guitars with a volute might
mitigate any weakening. Again, I do NOT speak with any authority on this.
It is just thinking outloud.

I just don't like the look of truss rod covers on the headstock. It's an
aesthetic preference,
not a judgement on the structural integrity of the decision.
Not all my guitars have truss rods; some have graphite installed in the
neck, instead.
The guitars that do have truss rods are adjustable through the soundhole.
The upper transverse brace has a hole in it for the required allen wrench.
I write on the upper transverse brace, so it can be read from the
soundhole, the
size of the allen wrench required, and I supply a ball-end allen wrench of
the correct size in the
guitar case.

I'm having air flow issues and dust issues all over the house, we're
getting our vents cleaned as I got recommended by a friend to the cleaners
she used them for her house and I managed to get a good deal and the guy
agreed to give me a group discount. Just need few houses to get the group
rate. They'll be coming according to our availability, Group rate is $150
If you’re interested in grouping up, just send me your address and phone
number, and He’ll add you to the list of interested ones.
Thanks!

Thanks Robbie.I have been messing with guitars since the 70’s, but work
kind of got in the way. After I retired 4 years ago, I bought your course
and it has been the blueprint and teaching tool for me ever since. I
realize that there is no graduation or pinnacle moment in this journey. So
much to learn and it really never ends. Thank you Robbie for your
expertise, passion and willingness to teach what you know to the rest of us.

ColorTone liquid stain (water based). Lemon yellow and bright green. I
applied a couple wash coats of shellac on the inside to prevent bleed
through.

I used ColorTone liquid stain (water based). Bright green and lemon
yellow. I tried to match the Greeenworks color as best I could. It’s a
mess to work with and runs like crazy, so careful taping off the top and
back was essential. I did a couple wash coats of shellac on the inside to
prevent bleed through. It still did in a could have spots, but not too
bad.
