Hi all,
As part of the Tree of Sex (ToS) Initiative we are creating an ontology that will formalise concepts adopted by the ToS consortium and database.
We are a well-structured group and will have help from over 100 experts in reproductive biology to build our knowledgebase and resources. I am the chair of TOS Ontology Team.
Our group would like to have our ontology done properly. We have tried to arrange our activities in agreement with the OBO principles for the past year and are ready to formalise our efforts.
I have just submitted a new ontology request
https://github.com/OBOFoundry/OBOFoundry.github.io/issues/2681, but know we
still have a long way to go to properly understand the tools and standards used by ontology creators and curators.
With this in mind, I’d like help from the community to get this done right and am looking for opportunities to attend to training sessions this semester, or maybe organise a few sessions during our Ontology Team meetings.
Please contact me if you are interested in collaborating with us and/or join the tree of Sex Consortium.
Cheers,
Cibele
