This is an open project, so anyone who wants to help out, can. There's
a long way before it becomes a useful tool, so what do we need to get
there?
* People interested in driving this forwards. This doesn't just have
to be (Eclipse) coders; it can be people who ultimately want to end up
using the tool.
* Website/Wiki documentation. As the project grows, we'll need to
explain what it is we're doing, and how people can help out
* Issues filed in the issue tracker. Until there's some code to have
bugs in, issues can be pie-in-the-sky ideas, wishlist items, wouldn't-
it-be-nice-if things and so on. They'll probably be low-priority items
that get deferred until a later time, but idea sharing is good.
* Use cases. Would this be just a tool for authoring Objective-C
code, or do you see it being the only tool needed? Are you just
interested in Mac apps, or more specific targets (iPhone, iPod)? What
about Objective-C development on non-Macs, using GNUStep?
* Project metadata management. We should be open and have a track on
what issues are being resolved, and when.
* Automated build. We should be compiling a build regularly enough
that we can post items; probably not as frequently as nightly (unless
we get really busy!) but a weekly-to-monthly schedule for posted
binaries, at least in the initial stages, is probably a good number
* Code. OK, it had to come eventually. But you don't need to be a
guru to bring about benefit to the project; there's a lot of harness
that plugins need as well. And if you've not contributed to an Eclipse-
style project before, now is your chance to find out ...
I'll be trying to put some documents up on the Wiki as well as filing
some items in the issue tracker to get the ball rolling, but please
leap in as you think of ideas.
