Spam, moderators?

There's been a steady increase of spam in the group lately. I've been
deleting the messages as they come in, but for anyone with email
delivery, that's too late.

I just turned on the "Moderate new members" option. That means when a
new member sends a message, it will not immediately post to the
group. I didn't want to do this since it delays the answer for new
users, but I think it's necessary at this point.

Would anyone be willing to become a moderator of this group to help me
approve or reject new messages more quickly?

I just marked you as a moderator.  If you go here:

http://groups.google.com/group/objecthandles/pendmsg

You would see the list of pending messages.  (there's none right now)  There would be options to approve or reject them.  Only reject the messages that are clearly spam, like the "come watch my porno" type.  I'd generally let any flex related stuff go through, even if it was a bit off topic.

I get an email whenever there is something to moderate.  I'm not sure if I had to turn on a setting, or if it's automatic for moderators.

I'd be happy to get one or two other people just to make sure it stays well covered.
