ObjectAL still safe to use (iOS 9 and higher)

I came across a few posts on the internet claiming that OpenAL could be removed by Apple in the future. Does that mean ObjectAL is no longer safe to use?

I'm working on a new iOS game targeting iOS 9 and higher, very tempted to use ObjectAL, but not sure how wise that would be?
