Hi Guru's/Experts,

I am wondering how can we implement daylight savings in OBIEE 11g?

For example, we have 2 locales: south america and central U.S & Canada. They both are GMT -6, but when we actually change the locale to either, there are difference at this time of the year. South America displays GMT - 6 but Central America & canada is converting to GMT -5 despite the time zone still being GMT -6. This is probably due to date light savings in America..

So is there a system variable that captures daylight savings?

And also i need to convert Day light saving from GMT to PST,is there any predefine variables?

If I want to apply filters at hourly level or timestamp level, I will need to know the offset number that I can use to subtract from the GMT time..

Thanks,

In what context?  Running an Analysis or Agent? Every User can set their own timezone in My Account.

Imran,

Please take a look at the following and see if you can find what you are looking.. As there are some session variables related to timezones.

Sincerely,

Alok

I am trying to show in report  all the time conversions + Day light Saving columns.

for example :
Login GMT Column PST Column  PST DLS MST Column CST Column EST Column
Abc user 7:00 PM 11:00 AM 10:AM 9:00 AM 8:00 AM

NOTE: USER's dont want to setup they time zone as default to their local time.

Hi Imran

You could use the EVALUATE function to call the Oracle NEW_TIME function (assuming your data source is Oracle).
