Hi All,

Did any one try to do this upgrade from 12.2.1 to 12.2.2.

I did try and it did not come out successfully so i had to remove obiee and do a fresh installation.

If anyone of you had done such a migration please share your thoughts.

thanks,
Ram

What kind of issues you had?
If you followed the suggested structure by splitting the config (domains) from the code outside of the ORACLE_HOME you just have to install the new version and use the script to use the existing domain.

As Gianni says… you’re upgrade issue (which you haven’t specified here) is likely because you did the initial DOMAIN configuration into the “user_projects” directory of the ORACLE_HOME… which is a no/no.

Hi All,

Thanks for the reply!!

What i did was followed the instructions given in the  below link

My issue was :

The instructions i followed worked correctly and i was able to start the server and see the OBIEE analytics screen.

What i missed was to load the old reports into my new version, i thought after the upgrade the old version of obiee will be replaced with new one, but this is not the case, old directory remains the same. Also i got confused on what should be done to the existing old OBIEE version should it be removed or kept like as it was (this was missed in the oracle link provided above and also in the Ritmann link above)!!

So what I did was took backup of the old rpd and catalog.

Removed all instances of the OBIEE and did a fresh installation and loaded my old rpd and catalog.

Any thought and suggestion would be welcomed as i can improve myself!!

thanks!!
