Hello,

This is more a policy/governance question.

So, once your OBI environment is up and running and you actually have Power Users who really want to get involved and start self-service analysis.

How would you structure your Shared Folders catalog structure? Would you allow the Power Users to share (i.e. copy their analyses) into the main folder structure that the company uses or would you create a separate sub-folder within Shared Folders (say call it Self Service Analyses) and only allow your power users to copy in there?

Ours is a non-BI-Apps (or "Custom") environment.

Thanks,

Manish

Hi Manish

This is fairly simple. Create a kingle top level folder for all the power user groups e.g. team_share. Then create a folder for each group or team that has power users. These folders will be secured against a specific team Application Role.
Power users will then be able to save their work in the team folders they are members of.
They can save dashboards in any sub folder then publish these via links on a central or team landing page.
You need to set the correct privileges for changing permissions and lock down other privs to the central it project team.
