OBIEE Samples .. V309 R2..error extracting file SampleAppv309R2.zip.002

Dear All..

did you ever installed OBIEE Samples .. V309 R2..

I am followind the deployment instruction guide given here with the downloads.

I am able to extract file SampleAppv309R2.zip.001 ..

and it created this folder SampleAppv309R2\SampleAppv309R2-export 

that has this file inside SampleAppv309R2-disk1.vmdk

 

but I am always getting error while extracting file SampleAppv309R2.zip.002  , SampleAppv309R2.zip.003, SampleAppv309R2.zip.004 and SampleAppv309R2.zip.005

I am using 7zip to extract.

Error message is " can not open file 'SampleAppv309R2.zip.002' as archive

 

Can any one help plz?

Hi,

Did you check the checksum of all your 5 files? Because of the size of the files sometimes they get corrupted when downloading (or also moving them around between the download location and other locations) and this can be one of the most common reason for 7zip to not be able to extract them.

Sounds like your download is corrupt. 

Perhaps someone on the list with the files already can post the MD5 checksums for your to compare against?

OK, 

So I selected all the files , 
right clicked on them 
selected option 7 zip > Extract Here 

and extraction process completed 

the outcome is : 

It created folder :SampleAppv309R2-export 
and there is 1 file inside this folder : SampleAppv309R2-disk1.vmdk 

so this expected or something went wrong again ?

Did you download the files with a download manager?

I had the same until I used a download manager to get the files.

Deployment Guide (PDF available on the Sample App 309 page), step 6: 

Result: 

SampleAppv309R2GA-disk1.vmdk (23 GB)

Go back to the Deployment Guide and follow the steps.

Yes, That is perfect. Now you need to download the key file and extract it. and then copy extracted key (ovf) file in SampleAppv309R2-export folder. so that both files be in same folder.

Then open Virtual Box, (You need to download and install separately)

Import and select Key file (ovf).

Follow the instructions including reinitiate Mac address.

All Done.
