Curtain

Fellow OBBP residents,

Is anyone still looking for a curtain/shade solution? Because of cost
concerns, we decided to not go for custom drapery/shade (we received
quotes ranging from $3500 - $4500). Instead, we bought draperies and
the related accessories (curtain rods, drapery rings, etc.) from
Restoration Hardware. We asked a handyman to help us with the
installation and he did an awesome job. It probably looks nicer if
you go with custom solution, but if cost is a concern (like us) and
you don't want to paint your window black :) this could be a viable
option. If anyone of you is interested in exploring this option, let
me know - will be happy to answer any questions.

ah, dear OBBPdreamer, where were you a month ago... we spent about a
month talking to different shops and thinking of different options -
we were ready for a version of DYI but then, chickened out and went
with $4K solution. ouch, still hurts thinking about it! You did the
right thing, I'd ask to come over and take a look, but i'll be too
upset afterwards... oh, and we re still waiting curtain-less, btw...
poor people from across the courtyard, we should send them a bottle of
champagne:)))

Oops, sorry for the late info - we did not want to recommend until we
know it worked. To be fair, it will probably still looks nicer if you
go with custom solution. Hey, you still don't have your curtain put
up yet? I have some extra temporary shades - I can give them to you if
you like (you can check out the temporary shade in the link below).

Hi - I am closing (hopefully) next month and expect to move in before
the end of September. I would LOVE to see what you did with the
windows, and learn from your experience!
