Just 40 days to the election but are there still any plans to continue
working on this extension? I have some time next week and would love
to help.

Hey Abi,

Between being out of town, and the impending Firefox 3.1b2 deadline, I haven't had time to work on it.

There are two things left to do that I think would make the extension eminently useful:

1. Notifications: Have the editorialized feed popup notifications for significant events.

2. Tab Management: Allow users to customize which tabs they want visible, and add a bunch of political blogs to the selection.

I probably will not have time in the next 5 days to work on this though :(

Hey Guys!

Apologies for the late jump into the conversation. Been a crazy week!

I think Dietrich's on the ball with the features we could add that would make the extension super useful.

Abi - Would you be interesting in working on the tabs management feature and/or the notifications?

On the Tabs management side, I created a simple mockup (attached) .  If we can include a menu of popular blogs, we may also be able to do outreach to the bloggers. Like, "Hey, you're in ObamaFox! If you share it with your readers, you'll make it easier for them to connect to your blog!"

On the notifications side, Dietrich rocked out an initial infrastructure, so we could use that as a spring board.

Abi - What do you think? .. Would you be interesting in working on these features?

Alaa, Karl, Do you have some time to spare this week, too, for lighting up ObamaFox v. 2.0 ?

Thanks again for getting this conversation started!  I'm excited to help support and get the word out!

Best,

Joe

Nope. Sorry, no time for me for the next couple of weeks. Work load has
been brutal.

I've just finished a major project, and can probably get a bit of
spare time.
I'll deal with the tab management feature if you like.

Don't know if I've got time for the notifications as well though.

Karl - That's awesome news! ..That would be great if you could get starts on tabs! I will get the word out about what feeds Obama supporters would want us to include and will get back to you ASAP.  (suggestions also welcome!)

Abi - Would you be interesting in taking on notifications?  Alaa also made some progress on notifications - the original mockup is here.  What do you think about this feature?

Best,

Joe

Alaa - Thx for the quick update.  Good luck with your projects!

I can't do much this week cos I'm having exams. But next week, I should have plenty of time. I don't mind working on either feature although I think tabs is a more important feature. So, I'll work on that if Karl hasn't finished it by then. And in the case of tabs, it would be nice to specify any feed (rather than just choose from a small list of feeds).

Cheers,
Abi
