Help! Phone Bankers Needed this Weekend PLUS: Iran Update and July 4

Dear Friends,

This is a busy week for Democrats Abroad, and I'm writing to say they
could really use your help - if you have a few hours to spare!

First of all, DA is planning a major calling effort this coming
weekend to reach out to a large number of Democrats Abroad members who
don't have e-mail addresses or whose data is out of date. This is a
critical first step in preparing for our 2010 get out the vote
efforts. Can you help?

We'll be making calls from 11-5 on Saturday and Sunday - can you join
us at any point on either day? We recommend, if possible, that you
sign up for a 3 hour session - either 11-2 or 2-5. Those of you who
made calls with us during the campaign can vouch for how satisfying
and (dare I say?) fun it is to reach out directly to voters in this
way.

Please e-mail vice...@democratsabroad.org.uk letting me know when
you'd like to come by. Location information will then be forwarded to
you (but it is a convenient Central London spot).

JUAN COLE ON IRAN AND US/MIDDLE EAST RELATIONS

Those of you who have been following the incredible events in Iran may
have come across noted blogger and author Dr. Juan Cole - www.juancole.com.
Professor Cole has been a regular face in the media lately and has
written extensively about Iran. He will be joining us in London this
Thursday for a rare opportunity to give a live update on the situation
in Iran and across the Middle East, to answer your questions and to
sign copies of his book Engaging the Muslim World. I'm sorry, but we
can only accept payment from US citizens as this is a Democrats Abroad
fundraising event.
