With the final passage of health care reform, President Obama and
Democrats everywhere have won our biggest domestic victory since the
passage of Medicare under Lyndon Johnson in 1965. Although it won't
solve every problem of our health care system, the new law does
establish in law the principle that every American has the right to
health insurance. It will reduce the deficit while expanding coverage
to 32 million more Americans - saving tens of thousands of lives every
year. It's more than a law - it's a legacy. And it happened because
you, and millions like you, worked for it.

ELECTION 2010 BEGINS NOW
The lesson of this victory, is how much we can achieve when we have
Democrats in charge. But we didn't have any votes to spare in
Congress. If we want to continue to deliver on President Obama's
promise to the American people, we need to keep our majorities in
Congress. Some folks say we can't maintain majorities in a mid-term
election. They say historically the party in power suffers major
losses at this point in the cycle. They say we shouldn't set our sites
to high, we can't keep making these kinds of changes. Well you know
what I say?
Yes. We. Can.
So let's get fired up now for November's election.
Can you help register voters? Can you make phone calls? Can you
canvass for American voters where you live?
