Dear Friends,
I know how desperately concerned you all are to ensure that Americans
get the affordable, accessible and fair health care that they
deserve.
Fortunately, Americans Abroad have just been given a rare opportunity
to hear first hand from one of the leaders fighting for the
President's plan in the House of Representatives. Congressman
Delahunt, of Massachusetts, is joining us for a special conference
call on Thursday October 1st at 5PM. The call is accessible to a
select group of Americans living overseas, but I am thrilled to be
able to invite you to join us for this special event, which we will
dial into on speakerphone from our former campaign headquarters.
(It'll be just like old times!)
Following our discussion with the Congressmane, we will all sit down
to write letters to each of our Congressional Representatives,
reminding them how strongly we support the President's healthcare
plan.
Please join us! Just RSVP to
obama...@gmail.com to book your place,
and I'll reply promptly with the full location information.
If you have been longing for some inside information on the reality of
the health care fight, or if you have been longing for a way to get
more actively involved - this is your chance. Look forward to seeing
you on the night.
Very best wishes,
Karin

Subject: Dexpat Conference Call: October 1, 2009 @ 5PM BST
Dear Dexpat,
Thanks to Diana Shaw Clark's relationship with her home voting
district, Congressman Delahunt will join Dexpats of London on
Thursday, October 1st at 5PM BST for a conference call to discuss the
healthcare reform process. As a close ally of the late Senator Edward
Kennedy, Congressman Delahunt has long been an active advocate of
health insurance reform. In an exclusive call with Americans Abroad,
the Congressman will brief us on the details of the latest legislation
as well as on the precise status of the reform bill. Moreover,
Congressman Delahunt is keen to take your questions on this and other
pending legislation.
Congressman Delahunt is a leader on several critical issues, including
conservation, having introduced major legislation to protect the
fragile, vital ecosystem of his home district, Cape Cod; women's
rights, having been among the first legislators in the country to call
for the recognition and prosecution of domestic violence as a serious
crime; and international relations, representing the Administration's
determination to resolve conflict in the Middle East by being first to
endorse George Mitchell as the President's Special Envoy; and health
care, representing a state that has extended coverage to all of its
citizens. Moreover, Congressman Delahunt's close affiliation with
Senator Kennedy has made him feel a particular obligation to help pass
health insurance reform that embodies the late Senator's priorities.
For a full account of the Congressman's career, including committees
and legislative initiatives, go to
http://www.house.gov/delahunt/about.shtml.
Please don't miss this opportunity to hear the most up to date
information concerning definitive Democratic legislation, next
Thursday, October 1st at 5pm.
All the best,
Jennifer
