to Obama London

Dear Campaign Friends

It's hard to believe that four years have gone by since we celebrated Barack Obama's nomination at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. And yet here we are in 2012 and our candidate (the President!) has just been re-nominated as the official candidate of the Democratic Party.

While many of you are members of Democrats Abroad UK and received the attached email earlier today, I wanted to share this with as many of our friends from 2008 that I could find. As you will see below, we fortunate again this year to have a campaign office in London. Just around the corner from our campaign office in 2008!

I'm hoping to see as many of you as possible in the next few weeks. Even if you only have a half hour to give, I hope you'll come out to see me and Karin again. We'll be posting office hours sometime soon on the Democrats Abroad UK web site.

With warmest regards,

/s/ Rob Carolina

Highlights: London Campaign Office Opens; Phone Bank Tonight; Open House Saturday; Grass Roots Finance Appeal

Fellow Democrats,

Some of my best memories of the 2008 Campaign to elect Barack Obama come from the times that many of us spent together in our very own campaign office in London. I've missed that place, and I've missed seeing many of you.

Well, I've got some exciting news!

I'm pleased to announce the opening of a Democrats Abroad Campaign Office in London. The office is located at:

International Students House

Marylebone Room - First Floor

229 Great Portland Street

London

W1W 5PN

International Students House is a student housing facility and charity in central London. This building (already familiar to many of you) is across the street from Great Portland Street tube and also very close to Regents Park tube. We plan to use the campaign office to operate most of our membership phone bank program and as a central meeting and coordinating location for other campaign projects and meetings between now and the election.

We're really excited about this facility. International Students House has its own on-site cafeteria and pub that can be used by our volunteers, the facility includes both WiFi and cabled Internet access, and we have 24x7 access to the campaign room. It will be easy to find for those of you who campaigned in 2008, since it's right around the corner from the 2008 campaign office.

Do you want to help? Here are some things that you can do!

1. Come to our Phone Bank tonight (7-9pm)

We have some spaces open on tonight's phone bank, which will be the first event in our new office. Drop a quick email to Karin Robinson (vice-...@democratsabroad.org.uk) and volunteer now! (Volunteers are expected to bring their own mobile phones for the purpose of calling fellow Democrats who live here in the UK.)

2. Open house and Phone Bank this Saturday (12noon-5pm)

We want to invite as many of you as possible to come out to the office this Saturday. We have two phone banks running (12-2 and 2-5). Come out and visit, tell us how you want to help re-elect the President, or just stop in and make a few phone calls for us. We'll have some campaign literature available.

3. Support Your Local Campaign Office with whatever you can afford

We all know that London office space (even space rented from a student housing charity) costs money. Are you willing to contribute $10 or $20 to help keep our UK campaign office open? This is your opportunity to support a campaign office that you can visit using nothing more than a rail ticket and an Oyster card!

Please click here to participate in the UK Grassroots Finance appeal. Your contribution of $10 or $20 will help to "keep the lights on" in London.

Your contribution will make a BIG difference, and HELP US WIN!

Here in the UK, we're Fired Up and Ready to Go!
