Dear friends,

If you've been sitting at home biting your nails over the twists and
turns of President Obama's effort at health insurance reform, wishing
there was some way you could help - your wish has come true!

Over the next three days, the Policy Action Network is organising a
series of calls to reach out to Democrats Abroad members in critical
states, urging them to contact their Senators in support of Health
Insurance Reform.

Please help - your voice, passion and dialing fingers can make a huge
difference to our efforts.

We'll be conducting calls on the following dates and locations:

26 October 6.30 -9.00 Duke of York Pub 35 New Cavendish Street
London W1G 9TR
28 Ocotober 6.30 - 9.00 Private home - very near Richmond Station
(train and tube) - details to be send to those who sign up for this
session
29 October 6.30 -9.00 Duke of York Pub 35 New Cavendish Street
London W1G 9TR

If you can help, please contact pancoor...@daukpan.org.uk to RSVP.

NOVEMBER 4 CELEBRATION OBAMA'S ELECTION, ONE YEAR ON!

Almost exactly a year ago we all watched in joy as Barack Obama stood
up in Grant Park Chicago and told us that that

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place
where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our
founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our
democracy, tonight is your answer."

One year on, the country still faces unprecedented challenges, but we
have begun to reduce the world's nuclear arsenal, ended the use of
torture, passed a dramatic (and dramatically progressive) stimulus
package, achieved an astonishing improvement in global attitudes
towards America, progressed further with comprehensive health care
reform than any Administration ever has (with the finish line in
sight...) and, oh yes, won the Nobel Peace prize. What a year!

Join us to celebrate:

WHEN: Wednesday, November 4th, 7:00-9:30pm
WHERE: The Photographers' Gallery, 16-18 Ramillies St, London W1
COST: £50 per person*
RSVP: obamap...@democratsabroad.org.uk

For more info, go to: http://www.democratsabroad.org/node/9827

Proceeds from this event will benefit Democrats Abroad as we prepare
for the crucial 2010 midterm election. In the House, we have 83
frontline Democratic incumbents across the country, including 49 in
districts won by McCain. In the Senate, five Democratic incumbents
face tough reelection challenges and at least seven seats look ripe
for Democratic pickups. With your help, Democrats Abroad can make the
difference in races across the country!

*Advance payment required. RSVP
( obamap...@democratsabroad.org.uk ) for payment details. While
foreign guests are welcome to join you, payment can be accepted from
U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
If you are interested in joining the host committee for this event
please email: ch...@democratsabroad.org.uk

Meanwhile, stay tuned as we will shortly be announcing more events to
celebrate this amazing anniversary.

Remember how fired up you were this time last year? Time to get that
feeling back, because Barack needs you now.

With thanks,

Karin
