Unfounded, Unfair and Unkind Allegations By Anthony Timmons

Dear All,

Some of you may have received an e-mail from the Americans Abroad Meet
Up group accusing Bill Barnard and the entire Democrats Abroad
leadership of nefarious practices in running today's elections.

These implications of Anthony's allegations are wholely unfair and
untrue. I have been following the efforts of the DAUK nominating
committee in developing a free and fair election procedure extremely
closely, and they have been rigorous and inclusive. They have
consulted legal advice on every area where there was ambiguity, and
they have informed the membership in a timely manner of all the key
information. Anthony's comments strike me as unfair to the point of
irresponsibility.

I have refrained in the past from saying anything negative about
Anthony in this public forum, but now I feel I have no choice: Anthony
has repeatedly behaved in a manner that I consider counter-democratic.
You may recall that he exploited a glitch with the Meet Up group to
take over this mailing list against my will in December and to spam
the group repeatedly with messages that many complained to me about.

What most of you will not know is that independantly of that, no fewer
than 10 separate members of DA have approached me to complain about
what they consider to be unethical, illegal, or inappropriate behavior
by this individual in other contexts.

In terms of organisational loyalty, I feel that you should also be
aware that Anthony is not a supporter of Barack Obama's. He has
routinely been critical of Obama, and sees it as his function to be a
voice of opposition to an individual he considers a "corporate sell
out". My own view of this organisation is different, I see it as our
role to support the President and our Democrats in Congress, and to
deliver Barack Obama's agenda.

I would urge you, very strongly, not to vote for Anthony Timmons in
any office this afternoon, as I consider him unfit to represent us.

I really hate to malign anyone's name in this way, but I feel
Anthony's behavior has, finally, left me with no choice.
