Dear friends and activists:

Some of us remain hopeful the Democratic Party will be stronger and more responsive in the coming months and years.  We have a choice on February 11th - keeping the failed status quo or electing new bold leadership.

If you would like to participate and vote in leadership elections to be  held at Cobo on February 11th, you must join or renew your membership by January 12, 2016.     You can join online for a fee or you can print and mail back a form for FREE.       The paper form gives us a FREE option.  If you want to join for free you can do so by writing Zero or free on the "other" line.     Your paper form if mailed must be postmarked by January 12, 2017.   Paper forms can also be delivered to the MDP in Lansing.

At Cobo Hall, There will elections for Congressional District leadership, State Party Chair and a number of Caucus positions

STATEWIDE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DISABILITY CAUCUS ELECTION
I pasted info BELOW sent out by Hank Johnson regarding the Michigan Democratic Party Disability Caucus Leadership election.   If you are interested in running for a position you should contact Hank Johnson asap to get the exact info about the procedures.   You can also let  me know so i can give you some advice on how to run a more successful campaign.   If you are interested in another constituency caucus election i'm always available to share info and give advice.

forming a Metro Detroit Dem Disability Caucus
I have been in discussions with some local activists about having a Detroit area Disability Caucus meeting prior to the State Convention so we can discuss delegate responsibility and party rules.     Theo Broughton, a blind social justice leader, cable show host, jazz singer and head of Hood Research, is interested in helping put together a Detroit area gathering of persons with disabilities prior to the convention.  If you are interested in helping Theo or being part of a local Detroit Area Democratic Disability Caucus meeting prior to the convention please let me know.   When I was president of the Young Democrats of Michigan, we had chapters across Michigan.  Maybe we need to organize local Disability Caucus Chapters to help grow our movement.  Local chapters could educate party leaders and elected official about issues of importance.  Recently, I helped form an environmental caucus of Metro Detroit.

Some Local Democratic District Organizations are No Longer Functioning  - No Notices, No Organizing, No Social Justice Agenda - they helped Elect Trump by doing nothing!  TIME FOR CHANGE!

Join the ISAAC ROBINSON Reform to 14th District Reform to WIN Slate in the 14th or the THEO BROUGHTON, 13th Coming Together Slate
I am organizing with Michelle Broughton, John Telford  and others on a 14th District Reform to Win Coalition Slate.

Theo Broughton is organizing a 13th Together Slate in the 13th Congressional District with Tawanna Simpson, Lory Parks, Tijuana Morris, Valerie Glenn and others.   We need you on our slates and teams.     Email Isaac Robinson at   isaacrob...@gmail.com    My cell phone is 313-739-5093        (let me know if you want to know what cities are in the 13th and 14th)

Remember everyone 16 and up in Michigan can join the MDP and participate.  There are 14 Congressional Districts in Michigan.  Make sure your voice is heard by joining the Michgian Democratic Party by Thursday, January 12, 2017.

I happen to be a Democrat and that is where I have chosen to organize for justice.   If you are a Republican, maybe you can convince them to do better too :-)
