TAKE ACTION TO RECLAIM OUR PARK!

We've had to defend People's Park continually, for over half a century,
and it may seem like we've been defeated, but it's never been an easy
struggle, and in the end we've always prevailed in saving our Park from
the greed and cruelty of UC's privatization attempts.

Remember Governor Reagan bringing in the National Guard to stop People's
Park in 1969? We've got an even worse threat coming with the fascist
administration heading for the White House, threatening to deploy cops
and soldiers against anti-fascists and other critics. Our struggle is
about to get much more challenging, but we must not let it discourage us
from protecting our community and green spaces. No one can do
everything, but everyone can do something.

Walls are not insurmountable. We’ve done it before and we’ll do it
again! If not now, when? With Martin Luther King Jr. Day coming next
month, we invoke his sentiment:

“We are now faced with the fact, my friends, that tomorrow is today. We
are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding
conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late.
Procrastination is still the thief of time.”
