Thisuser guide and FAQ is an overview of using our tool, noting common limitations, issues and behaviours. Please read and check this section first for support. General FSLTL project FAQ's can be found on the homepage.
Our tool differs from other published injectors by ensuring continued use of the full MSFS experience: ATC is functional, jetways connect to AI planes, and baggage/catering trucks serve parked aircraft.
SettingDescriptionDefaultSetting RangeConfig file attributeMax Active IFR AircraftSets the overall maximum number of IFR traffic to be injected.
(IFR = aircraft has origin and destination)
This value is then proportioned to air and ground traffic based on your altitude (AGL):

FlightPlanDB allows the use of more realistic flightplans to be used with IFR AI traffic. (without this API key, AI aircraft flightplans will be a simple A -> B route)
Create an account at and enter the API key from the settings page to use this feature. No keyn/aflightplannerdbapikeyUse SIDs for departureEnables departure procedures which are determined based on the flight plan and currently active origin airport runways the sim is using or current METAR.

Remove Nearby Traffic: Removes traffic that is active around you in an approx 5km radius - useful if aircraft are stuck in front of you on taxi or slow aircraft on final blocking your way!
The sliders allow you to update the injector settings (and have the new values written to the config file) in real-time. It can take a small amount of time until they fully update in the sim as aircraft are removed or added.
The Historic Parked setting is an exception to full real-time updates, existing parked aircraft won't be removed when you change this setting but new airports you come across will use the new setting.
Fallbacks for models not included in our solution and blank texture files for any airlines without livery are covered, however, you can use the FSLTL VMR alongside any custom model matching you may have or wish to use.
Copy this file and place it in your vPilot folder. Within vPilot, add custom model matching and import the FSLTL VMR file. Order the file to the top to avoid overrides from any other VMR you may have.
Upon the first run of the injector, you may get prompted that Windows Firewall has blocked some features on all public and private networks. In order for the Injector to communicate with FR24 external to your network, you will need to allow access. Failure to allow will prevent the injector from inserting aircraft based on live traffic data.
A number of AI limitations and traffic behaviours exist in the sim which affects all AI solutions including FSLTL. These issues require fixes from Asobo which we hope to see in the future. If you wish to upvote the issue, then you can do so via the MSFS forums here.
Please also note that when the injector reads real-time data of aircraft location/type/departure/destination, there is around a 30-second delay in this data, along with additional delays due to MSFS inputs. Positioning won't be 100% accurate but will be very close to real life.
This is now fixed and is was only a problem in the experimental build (which is experimental ) - if you or anyone else is using the experimental build visit the linked discord message (pinned in our general channel) and opt in to be part of the experimental build channel then you will a) have change logs for the experimental b) be able to provide feedback on it.
I must say for for me unknown reasons the FPS increased since the last update. Now its taking between 10 and 15 fps which was really to much for my system. So now only a few planes at major airports otherwise i only have 15 fps to start the flight with
You have basically no ability to control aircraft quantity with MSFS default traffic - if you want to do that - use the FSLTL injector. The user guide describes its settings that allow control of how many aircraft are in sim.
The FSLTL injector finds AIG models for model matching whenever AIG models are present in the standard Community folder names created by the AIG installer. FSLTL is aware of the AIG folder structure and no action is required by the FSLTL user for installed AIG models to be used.
It is easy for me to see the difference because the FSLTL models are sharp and clean with 3D windows while the AIG models are a little fuzzy with flat windows. However, it is very nice to have the AIG models because they give you the correct model in the sim when the models are missing in the FSLTL base pack.
One parking area looked like a Cessna dealership lot filled with the C172 all painted the exact same color scheme. It was really weird seeing them all there identical in appearance in neat rows/columns.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have airports full of traffic at the correct gates? This product brings 41 airports complete with hand placed aircraft all around the airport including gates and GA. FSLTL is a FREE addon from FBW that you can download and have a base file for all the models you see in my product. What does my product do? I have gone a hand placed all the models myself at the correct gates from recent traffic and operations at each airport that have currently been done. Understand that some airports operations change frequently so i wont be updating every airport just to fix maybe a gate or two at some if maybe for a day another airline is parked there. There are some things you need to know first BEFORE purchasing..
2. Not REQUIRED however highly suggested you use the airports listed in the file to make the traffic 100% as default airports or even freeware could potentionally lead to planes not being lined up or in the correct locations.
Because we're trying to get the base package working for Live traffic, then AI. Just as there was no "official" support from MyTraffic or UT2. There are many issues we're facing while trying to get the models displaying correctly. Many CTDs, wrong liveries, effects, etc. Using the VMR generator would be the simplest way to go about it (one would think) since the traffic isn't doing anything but being available for a particular plane. But the way FS handles traffic now, especially with limited SDK functionality makes things tough. Airline matching as worked fairly well, but correct model matching has been tough.
I'm flying a Beech g36 and I get this error. First flight worked for an hour then disconnected with similar error. Not really sure what to do. Model matching doesn't do anything. I removed liverys and any mods. My first flight was a TBM .
The default model determines what OTHERS are shown as if a more suitable match cannot be found. It has nothing to do with what YOU are flying. The entry there must exactly match what the model is called in the sim's library of aircraft models.
What you're missing is, it is extremely time consuming creating that file from scratch while trying to get the base traffic system working correctly. Why can't the automatic VMR generator that you have integrated into vPilot scan the community folder, or a specified folder to identify planes with isAirTraffic=1? IVAO has seemingly done it with no issues at all. What am I missing?
As I said, I will be teaching vPilot how to scan your system for installed models (not just the community folder) but doing so is going to take time. Certainly it will take far more time than it would take model set developers to generate a text file mapping type codes to their model names.
Unfortunately, it's not just a matter of "scanning the community folder". That folder is potentially in a different location on each user's computer. With FSX and P3D it's very easy to know where all installed models are located, because the configuration file that lists all SimObjects folders is in a fixed, known location on every user's computer. They changed things completely with MSFS and I just need to put in the time to update vPilot accordingly. I don't know yet, but it may be the case that I won't be able to auto-detect all installed models, and I will have to create a new UI where the user can specify the folder(s) where they have models installed. I would really like to avoid that since it would take a lot of the user friendliness and automation of vPilot away.
