Hello all!

Just got an email about this event, it sounds like fun and for a good
cause! I know that some of you are sad that Le Tour is over, all more
the reason to get on the bike and ride! The distance is from 12 to 33
to 40, to 67 up to 100 miles, so it is good for all riding levels. We
can also have a team if we get 4 people to register, which will be
cool to promote OA, and the team members can ride different distances
and save $5 off reg fee. Registration fee goes up as of August 1st. I
am thinking about a 40 miler

So please reply soon regarding this event.

Also, a few of us at OADC are planning to have an event on August 22.
Do something active - run, bike, possibly kayak or play tennis and
then have a picnic lunch, we'll have a back up plan if it rains.

Plus, OADC will be tabling at http://dcvegfest.com/ on September 12th
please stop by and hang out with us. We'll be allowed to give away
food samples, so we could make some raw food bars from the Trive book
by Brendon Brazier http://www.brendanbrazier.com/book/index.html I
just finished reading it, and WOW it is a really great info. Learn how
to fuel your body before, during, and after training. I plan to get a
few copies at our table.

Moreover, Baltimore Running Festival is coming up on Oct 10th, some of
us are thinking to represent, and it would be great to have a strong
team for team relay or some people going the distance representing OA
with Go Vegan! message, as there will be a lot of people and possibly
media. http://www.thebaltimoremarathon.com/site3.aspx

Quite a few things, eh? But wait, there is more! There is an interest
to hike the Old Rag mountain in Shenadoah valley, it is a a beautiful
and very athletic hike with about a mile of rock scrambling, if you
had not done this hike before, it might quickly become your favorite.

If you did not know, OADC has a facebook page, please friend it
http://www.facebook.com/OrganicAthleteDC

Let's make some noizzz spreading vegan message in DC/Baltimore area
and build a strong community of local athletes!

OADC group manager.

Hi Vlad,

How exciting---DC OA is representin'!

Count Scott and myself for the B-more relay. I'm pretty sure we'll
also be up for doing the Old Rag hike, since we've never done it and
have heard it's a really interesting and challenging hike.

What date is the Eat a Peach ride?

Thanks for all the GREAT info, Vlad!

Best,
Cynthia

Oops, forgot a link to the biking event. It will be on August 8th. Here is a link to the registration form http://www.biamd.org/09%20EAP%20brochure.pdf

The bike ride could be followed by a lunch at Mr. Chan. Those who had not eaten there - it is a single great reason to make a trip to B'more!

Thanks Cynthia! Anyone else running? biking? I believe that registration goes up a little bit for both events as of August 1st.

Vlad,

Unfortunately, we won't be able to make the bike ride on Aug. 8th.
Hopefully we'll find another one down the road.

I'm thinking about a potluck at my house on the 6th of September...sometime in the afternoon.   Lots of good food and also my pots will be for sale with 30% going to OA.   Of course everyone would be welcome for this!!!

Its not official yet but I want to make sure its a decent day.  Sundays is really the only day I can do other than Monday.
