Hello everyone! I sent this message to the new members, but it also applies to the current members, so please read it and fill out a quick survey!

Thank you for stopping by at our tent at the DC veg fest and expressing your interest in being a part of the local OrganicAthlete chapter!

Our chapter is an all volunteer venture, and we are trying to create a community of people who enjoy fitness and athletics using plant based diet as a the best fuel there is, and as a statement showing the world that it is not only possible to survive on the plant based diet, but also thrive, maintaining high levels of health and fitness, as well as take part in athletic competitions!

If you have not yet, please visit http://www.organicathlete.org/ and join the organization - it is free - you will get  announcements once in a while about events, discounts, and competition results from our and other chapters.

Also please join this Google group to be able to receive and send messages to local group members, it is also free http://groups.google.com/group/oawashdc?hl=en

To get a better idea of what sorts of events events and activities the members would like to do, we've created a short survey - thank you Cynthia! - please take a few minutes to complete it http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=sfUpaoJBCBAJuit5wIK_2bRA_3d_3d

We are on the facebook, so please friend our local chapter http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/OrganicAthleteDC?ref=ts
and the headquaters http://www.facebook.com/organicathlete?ref=nf

Four of our members will be running a marathon relay at the Baltimore running festival, there are still 5K spots available, it would be great to have more of us there. Afterward, we'll all go out to lunch or hang out at the festival.

Also, a bunch of us are going to the Poplar Spring animal sanctuary for their annual fundraiser event on October 4th.

We could possibly go for a group bike ride before the event and check out the area. Let me know if you are interested. I figure since the event starts at 1 p.m., we could get together at 11:30 or even 12 p.m. for the ride at a casual pace.

It was a pleasure meeting you all at the DC Veg fest and we look forward serving our local community!

Vlad Konstantinov,
OADC manager.
