Cory Reynolds, a member of the group informed me that there is a running event coming up on Sunday, April 1st.  It is called the Trail Less Traveled: 5k and Quarter Marathon.  Both the 5k and Quarter Marathon start at the Saddle Dam Day Use Area.  The map for the Quarter marathon posted on the event website shows the run going up the Bidwell Canyon trail, looping around and breifly connecting with the Dan Beebe trail and back down to the start on the Bidwell Canyon trail with an elevation gain of 387ft and a total decent of 394ft.  You can find detailed mapping data here.  The 5k map shows the start at the Day Use area, travels up the Bidwell Canyon trail and back down on the Dan Beebe trail, or visa versa, you can't really tell on the map.

You can register online on the event website and they state that doing so is 35% cheaper than at the event.  It looks like those prices hold until 3/17, after that they go up by $5.  The event is rain or shine.  The 1/4 Marathon starts at 9am and the 5k starts at 9:10am.

So who is going to sign up?!

Didn't make the early signup but I'm planning on running as long as
something doesn't come up. Probably signup the day of. I'm thinking I
would like to go do a practice run but don't have any plans yet. If
anyone wants to let me know.

A practice run sounds great. Let me know what days are good for you and we'll make a new post for it. Hopefully we get a few more to go. My buddy Paco said he'd do the 5k, so we may get him to join us anyway.
