Peter Thomson is conducting 5 intensives for teachers and experienced students at Oasis in 2017.
These
intensives are aimed specifically at the needs of teachers,
teachers-in-training and very experienced and commited students. They
are not suitable for new or recent students to yoga or to the Iyengar
method. The general workshops are there for that purpose. As a guide all
students are expected to be engaged in their own practice and should be
accomplished in sirsasana and sarvangasana.
Peter's particular
approach is process or practice-based rather and aims at understanding
rather than simply knowledge. It is built off the establishment of clear
perceptual foundations that support on-going yoga development. This
approach demands and relies on continuity and consistency of attendance
and process. All participants in these intensives are therefore
required to attend all 5 sessions for the year unless otherwise
expressly negotiated with Peter.
Fees SGD $2000.00 upfront payment for 5 intensives or SGD $450.00 per intensive made prior to 1 week to commencement
Registration Please enquire eligibility by emailing Peter at petert...@a1.com.au Please make cheques payable to OASIS HOLISTIC and post it to us. Places are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
About Peter Thomson Peter
has been practicing yoga since 1979 and a student of the Iyengar family
since 1981. He has traveled to Pune to study at the Iyengar Institute
well over 20 times and has been a participant in most special intensives
and courses at the Institute over the years, including notably the
backbend intensive with Mr. Iyengar in 1991.
Peter is one of
Australia's most senior and most experienced teachers and practitioners
and has been heavily involved in the development of Iyengar yoga both in
Australasian and more recently in South-East Asian region. This is so
in terms of basic teaching but also in terms of teaching training and
certification processes.
Peter’s
particular interest in the practice and teaching of yoga is the depth
of perception, inquiry and understanding that sustained practice can
develop and in making that understanding directly accessible to students
so they can claim it as their own in their practice and in their lives.
