Dear OASIS community,
As you may recall, last year OASIS was recognized jointly with AICI (Air-Ice Chemical Interactions) as an "activity" of IGAC (the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry Project). IGAC provided support for the CASSII workshop in Cambridge, UK last fall, which covered many OASIS themes. As of 2016, IGAC will no longer support AICI/OASIS in their current form, but we have been encouraged to reorganize and join efforts with other groups with Arctic or Polar emphasis and propose a new IGAC activity.
Looking to the future, the next AICI/OASIS polar science workshop is being organized by Thorsten Bartels-Rausch and Jennie Thomas for late 2016/early 2017, to take place at the Paul Scherrer Institut in Villigen, Switzerland. Besides being a scientific meeting, this workshop will also provide the platform for the community to discuss steps forward. Tom and Faye (OASIS co-chairs) will serve on the scientific committee for the workshop.
Meanwhile, we will continue to use this email list and our Facebook page to share news about OASIS related opportunities, news, and events.
Happy 2016 to all!
Faye McNeill & Tom Douglas
